I originally started using two standard parabolic reflectors, each with a single 250 Watt SE MH bulb. One over each half of my 90 gallon tank.

I changed out the reflectors because I wanted to add VHO actinics to my setup and there wasn't room to use the reflectors and the VHO's.
I am now using a 46.5" flat mirror reflector. It has the two moguls mounted one to a side (both pointing towards each other) in the middle and two VHO's mounted on the outsides.

It's been a few years and I'm wondering if I am losing a lot of light by going with the second reflector. I've been reading lately and neither of these reflectors are listed as very good, but I don't have the money or more importantly the room for the luminarc reflectors everybody's raving about. I'm wondering if I'd be better off going to a Reef Optix 2 (similar to my old one) and try to find a way to mount the actinics or just stay with what I have. What does everybody think?
