So i upgraded from a 29g bowfront to a 29g JBJ Nano Cube HQI.

The bowfront ran CF lighting for 9 hrs a day, but 9 hrs a day in the HQI is leading to massive amounts of algae. How long should I be running the lights?

I currently run my HQI for about 8 hrs a day. Your system may take some time adjusting to the light upgrade, I would cut it back to 6 hours a day and see how things do. When your algae is under control you can stretch it back out to 8-9 hrs. Also dont rule out other causes of algae as well.
