I have a 6 gallon Nano Cube that I did a DIY 2 18 watt PC upgrade to. Now I am looking at a Cree LED set up for it. I am thinking about having LEDsupply make me a LED Kit that I can put in the stock NC hood. My question is which Cree LEDs should I use and how many?? I was thinking 4 of them 2 white and 2 royal blue on dimable buckpucks. I dont know if this is to much or not enough. I want to try this on my nano and add sps as a test for a future larger LED sps tank. Please help.

i would go with more than just 4 LEDs because with 4 i belive you will get spotlighting issues and not get very good coverage. i would also go with a heatsink from nanotuners/nanocustoms because they make one that is specially designed for the Nanocube 6 hood that will attach without any modification at all.

^ Yeah but the nanotuners LED set up is way over priced compared to having ledsupply make one. I also dont feel that a heat sink is needed. Plus their LED kits come pre assembled for you and are ready to plug in and use. I just need to know how many any what type of Cree LEDS I will need? May be 6 on dimable buckpucks????

LOk well it looks like nano tuners has an upgrade for Cree XRE leds 18 in the 6 gallon. I think 10 will be fine for a 6 gallon. What current should I use for it ledsupply has a choice for 350ma, 500ma,700ma or 1000ma????? And should I got with a 12v power supply or a 24v??? Having 2 led light kits made for me will only cost about $150 compaired to nano tuners Cree and dimable upgrade running around $400.
