I've been having quite a break out of these little white disks in my tank. I'm guessing I could count a couple hundred of them. Check out the pics (the white disks seem to look purple in these pics)...

My tank is quite young, at about 2.5 months since I put in the sand/DRY live rocks. I went through a first cycle and about three weeks ago added 10 lbs of Garf Grunge and I believe have just about completed a second cycle. As far as potential sources for these little critters, I've seeded the tank with the garf grunge, a few batches of macro algae, and some live rock frags that are mostly in the sump.

And now I have these little tiny discs (1/8th inch) that I believe look like tiny mollusks of some sort.

Anybody seen this before? Good or bad?

Thanks for all input!!!

Probably Collonista snails, which are not a problem.

They look like nerite snail eggs, though I cannot be certain from the pics.

Flatworms move...if these aren't moving at all, then my bet is nerite snail eggs. Mine lay them constantly.

So it looks like several of the little pods have sorta split off of the rock and seem hollow now. Maybe a hatched egg?

There are no little snails to be seen although I imagine they are tiny and there's plenty of hiding places. Also, there are not really any predators in the tank yet, outside of a huge snail.

Still sound like nerite eggs?

yup...mine never hatch. I'll see if I have any photos with some in it so you can compare.
