Hello everyone,
I have a client that will be using bio pellets. She has approx 120 gallons total volume and has 2 TLF 150 phosban reactors. Can i run 1/2 liter of bio-pellets using these phosban reactors and what size pump are you guys using to keep the pellets tumbling well? Thanks guys!

IMO 500ml is too much for the small TLF reactor.I use about 250ml in my reactor and it has plenty of room to tumble.I prefer to use a maxijet 1200 since the reactor has a valve to slow the flow if needed.

So, reallistically, if could use 2 Reactors then? She already has the reactors and she doesn't really wanna buy a new, larger reactor.

yeah 500ml will only work with a stronger pump, and even then it may not tumble enough, i use about 250-300ml with a rio hyper 6 and the TLF and they do circulate a bit. I saw a setup at the LFS with about 500ml or so in the actual "reactor" for the pellets and the pellets where flying up about 2-3 in a arcing circle and then back down, it was fun to watch. Im not sure if this was overkill but was definitely more flow than the TLF.

I'm not sure of the size of Bio Pellets per say, but I've been running 500 ml of WM EcoBak Pellets in my TLR 150 with no problem. Here is a photo of them (off) and a photo with a Maxijet 1000 (on):

I had to eventually turn down the flow, because it seamed to be too much. After lowering the flow, the pellets are now about 2" from the top. If the Bio Pellets are similar to the WM Pellets, then there should be no problem running 500 ml in each. HTH
