I recently set up a 120 gallon, current fish are a kole tang that i've had for 3 or 4 years (~3inches) and a pair of perculas. I also plan to add a pair of banggai cardinals and a few blue-green chromis. Will a yellow tang be ok for this tank? I'm concerned about both the kole and about the size of the tank. Any input would be appreciated.

In theory it would work...but, in my experiances with kole tangs they are very very nasty and if you've had him in there for several years I would expect him to try to kill any new fish in general.

I've put a purple tang in a 210g and a sailfin never bothered him, but immediately the kole tang was tail smacking him, the funny thing is the purple tang just kept trying to mind his own business and left a lot of cuts on that kole tang.

You should be fine. I would recommend the yellow is larger than the kole though.
