I was reading a thread(http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1917526)
and I see the club's meter is broken. I wanted to see if a new one would be useful to the group? I mean, I'd be willing to throw 5$-15$ on a new one. I have a new setup and would like to test it. I'm not sure what other priorities the club has as far as new gizmos/toys, an fraging EQ, nor do I wish to stir up anything, I'm gaging interest to see if its a feasible/ worth while endeavor.
I know the rummage sale is coming up. I want to go, but I have to work that day. Perhaps some creative thinking can help get one??
Just a thought :D

I'm not sure how Many members we have but, if enough are willing say 10 or so, that would only be about 30 each, or 15$ ea.if we can 20-25 or so... Just a thinking

How 'bout this...
Instead of cash, would you guys donate a little bit of time to research what's out there and make a few recommendations as to what and where to purchase?

Here's a few links I found ...

I had some links to some good prices (about 300) for some of the ones listed above... But that will have to wait until after work :D

After looking online, I decided to asked a few people from my old reef club, and some of the bigger ones I know ( iemas, scmas, & scrk) and they pointed me to their lighting guru
Here is his reply.....
Apogee is the only company that I would recommend. Get the one that measures sunlight, not the one for electric lamps because It gave the closest results when compared to the $10,000 LI-COR meter in tests.
They run apx 330-375$
