Is it ok to point a powerhead at your live rock to blow the detritus off your rocks and let the skimmer get as much as it can?

Just curious how you clean off our LR if it's all attached together.

Someone will be a long shortly to chime in. I would think that it should be done but dont listen to me!

Yes you can and it is a good practice. A clean and new turkey baster works great too.

Yeah, that's a great thing to do. Anytime you do a water change this should be done IMO. Just hook up a filter sock for awhile to polish the water and your set. You should also take that powerhead and stir everything up in your sump on a regular basis too. Get all that gunk up into the water column and get it out.

Whenever I use my turkey baster, I'm reminded that I need to get another powerhead or two--there's not enough flow in the back of my tank!

why just siphon?

I use a maxijet to blast it off, but if you have allot each week you might need more flow. what i mean by allot is if you make a big brown cloud in you tank when you do it you need more flow.
