Roger, I have a 75 gallon with sps, lps and light fish load. I had a 9010 and the power cord cracked. I ordered a 9006 because I think the 9011 is too large. Was that good thinking or is bigger better when it comes to a protein skimmer? Please let me know if I need to change my order. Thanks

9011 is the way to go, especially for a sump and when you consider the details of our rating criteria, the stated ratings are for fish only, deduct 20% for a mixed reef heavier on soft corals, 40% for more stone corals, 60% for SPS focused, 70% for high fish load and SPS. The 9006 does not include a sump kit, 9011 does, this means you are only paying about $30 more for a bigger cup and stronger pump. The only reason to buy a 9006 is if you need a skimmer for in tank use that fits under a canopy, that is what it was designed for, hence the shorty cup.
