My tank has been fallow (without fish) for 6 weeks, 43 days to be exact. Is this long enough to beat ICH? I know some suggest 8 weeks but I am really getting pressured by the kids and wife to put the fish back in. The fish that are in qt (pair of clowns and a black velvet angel) have been in qt as many days and are doing great.

Let me know what you think?

Would wait the 8 weeks. Tell the family good things are worth waiting for.

Everyone has their own opinion on this. I ran mine fallow and the fish in hypo for 5 weeks and it is GONE!

Have the fish in quarantine been treated for whatever ailment caused you to take them out? Don't let the pressure beat you. Putting them in early risks an entirely new disease outbreak which means they will either die or you will have to take them out again. I know how it is to deal with families and fish tanks, but tell them how annoying it would be to do this all over again. Fishyness got lucky with his only being fallow for 5.

Fend off the urge, and run fallow the 8 weeks.
