octopus skimmer mods

i have an dnw200 octopus skimmer with an octopus pump, it is stock and was wondering what mods i can do to make it skim better
the pump has a pinwheel impeller

The pinwheel is a good wheel from what I have heard. I have a NW110 and did the mesh mod. Some people have cut off the pins and replaced them with a few layers of mesh. Modding the venturi helps to pull in more air. There are a few more easy mods just do a search.
