fuzzy mold

what is this fuzzy looking mold type growth on my live rock? Don't have any pics, but do ya'll have any ideas?

coral? Hard to say without a pic.

it's not a coral? almost cotton candy like, but brown. It's short.....maybe 3/8 of an inch? I will try and get some photos tonight

could be a sponge but it sounds more like the red-brown turf algae or cyanobacteria.

i think i have the same issue.
is it brown and slightly hairy? popping up all over tank?
if so yeah id like to know what it is as well. bad or good?

Does it look like a small pineapple? Or half of a small golf ball? If so they are sponges.
