As promised:

Pros: Small form factor

Decent Construction

Easy to set up

Comes with drain on collection cup and a different mounting bracket for aquariums with rims.

Cons: The pump is only rated for 200L per hour(about 52 gallons per hour)

The small pump is loud! (I'm not going to rule out that I received a bad pump, but I don think the pump can handle pumping air and water simultaneously)

My decision is aiming towards returning it and getting a better skimmer, getting a better pump, or modding the pump to make it run smoother. It makes a chattering sound while operating.

Sorry about the low quality.

UPDATE: I was able to fix the chattering noise the pump was making. There is an impeller cover under the shell of the pump. The impeller cover was dislodged and just needed to be clipped back on. It is much more quite now! If it skims well. I may end up keeping it.

Thanks for your review, great info. I was going to suggest Roi plus pumps are small & you can get them complete with venturi, if you want to try a stronger pump?

The Rio Plus pumps look like a good option to start with. Thanks for the suggestion! If I keep the skimmer a pump upgrade will be a must. The pump is starting to get loud again.Tonight I will be taking it apart completely to check for defects.

I run one on a 34g all-in-one and it pulls some stuff out. Not the best skimmer, but also not the worst. I feel for the $50 I paid I got my moneys worth hugh.
