I'm really hoping to get the wet test going this weekend. Probably going to pickup the return pump tonight and paint the back of the tank tomorrow. I have all of the plumbing fittings so that's just a matter of putting it together. The sump is ready to go also, so I really think at this point it's just a matter of finishing up and getting the water in it.

I'm really excited, but nervous. Everything is used, so I'm actually pretty terrified of a leak or the stand collapsing (probably pretty remote as it's the stand the prior owner had it on for years). This is why I plan to run the leak test out in the garage for at least 48 hours. I have some blue disposable shop towels that I plan to lay out under and around everything so any leaks will be easy to spot. Any other suggestions or words of wisdom in starting this thing up for the first time? I'm planning on filling it with a water hose. The tank needs a good rinsing out anyway.

You have all of your tank details in your signature awesome! Definately doing the test out in the garage is a good idea. It will also give you a chance to test your plumbing layout and give you peace of mind once you place it inside your house. I don't have any brilliant words of advice. Seems like you are on the right track.

Good luck with the setup and keep us posted on the progress :)

Edit: I did think of some good advice. A penny saved is a penny earned :P

Thanks for the advice. My saving/earning is going to be a bit inverted as I'm going to be purchasing a RO/DI unit in the next week or so. I know I'll save in the long run there.

Is there a procedure or something when trying to figure out sump water level? Part of my wet test is to figure out my sump water level so that I don't overflow the sump in a power outage, and also if I pump the sump dry due to a drain clog I don't overflow the DT. This also raises the question about the sump running dry while I'm not home... If this were to happen, would it ruin my pump?
