I have tried doing my own research but I am a little confused.

I just started running my skimmer and I am getting a MASS amount of bubbles, so much bubbles that it is spilling outside of the lid. From what I understand, I need to raise my skimmer higher so that it doesn't sit so low in the water...is that right?

The skimmer is brand new, but has been sitting idle in my sump while my tank cycles. It is in approx. 10" of water (the recommended depth for my Bubble Magus). I know that skimmers need time to break in, so is it normal to be getting this amount of bubbles at first?

I tried posting this in the Bubble Magus thread, but I never got a response so I figured I would try here.

As always, thanks for any and all help

they do take some time to break in. I know alot of people run it in a tote separate from the tank during break in period.

Make sure the output valve is all the way open and your venturi hose isn't clogged. If it isn't, raise the skimmer more.

It could be that there are chemicals in the water, manufacturer grease, etc. Did you do a vinegar bath?

No I did not do a vinegar bath. What is that exactly?

Are you using any stress coat? That usually made my skimmer go crazy for a few days.

I believe it's just placing your skimmer in a bin with 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water and letting it run for a day or so.
