I am rebuilding my Coralife Aqualight (2 96w PC) and I was wondering if this ballast SPL-196R-JS will replace the original E296PX-1 that I can not seem to find. When I built my DIY fixture I stole both ballast and the connectors but I want to get it up and running for my 40 breeder. Thanks.

I am in the same boat - no pun intended! I have contacted Central Pets, the new owner of Coralife. They have tried very hard but cannot locate the original ballast or a suitable replacement. I am contacting several manufacturers but no luck so far.

Please send me a message if you get any good info. I will do the same. If you email me, maybe we can work on this together. I am determined to find a way to continue to use this lighting fixture.

Where did you find the connector for the side of the ballast that does not connect directly to the bulb?

These guys may have it. Not sure which version of the ballast you're looking for, but when I bought mine this is where I found it...
