Feeding a Skimmer???

I will be setting up a 275 gallon tank in my new house in a few weeks and will have the sump and equipment in the basement. I will be running a Reeflo BlackFin 6000 Pump (Pressure Rated Pump 6000 GPH) as a return pump. I have a GEO Beckett Skimmer that I would also like to run off this pump. Do you think it is possible to do so if I put a "T" in the return line with a gate valve on all 3 sides of the "T" so I can control how much water goes where (to the tank or to the skimmer)?

it will need constant adjustments IMO as you never can control each line in terms of pressure stability . yes it will work but you will have fun dialing it in . after some time you will figure it all out .
