Ok, a little background...
Shortly after I setup my tank I was looking on Craigslist for some cheap & easy corals. I was very lucky with a gentleman up north and, for the price of one frag of xenia, he set me up with two types of xenia, some yellow polyps on a nice piece of LR and a small shell encrusted with some GSP. All that for just $10 - like I said... a gentleman :D
Anyway, as can be expected, the xenia has been going bonkers (I'm already giving away some of it!), the single yellow polyp is now 7 heads and the Green Star Polyps have spread some mat off of the shell and onto the LR I had glued it on to. So yesterday, I figured it's time to save my tank before it gets overrun and start pulling the xenia off and bagging it up with some LR rubble. I removed the GSP covered shell and attached mat and trimmed the mat off and glued it onto a piece of LR as well. All of this stuff was left on the sand overnight while everything recovered a bit...
So I head down this morning to make sure everything appears to be doing alright. Much of the xenia has pushed its fingers through the bridal veil netting and, as expected, is doing just great. The mat of GSP I cut off has re-opened up and is looking nice. The encrusted shell must've got bumped around overnight 'cause it's on the other end of the tank. HOLY CRAP IT JUST MOVED! :eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1:
Yep, a hermit crab decided to make the shell (with the hunk over superglue still on it, even!) his new home. So now I have a nice little GSP garden wandering around the aquarium!
Tooooooo funny! :lolspin::lolspin:
