WOW, thank you everyone for voting for my little tank. I personally voted for one of the other entries as I thought they were better, so I'm flattered to win.

This is a fairly new tank. At the time of the contest, the tank had mostly soft corals and a few LPS. It has recently been converted to almost all SPS as a prelude to a move to a slightly larger tank in a month or two.

Equipment List:
Solana 34 starfire tank
Solana stand w/ matching top trim
Vortech MP10wES
Aqua Illumination SOL Blue light
Tunze 9002 skimmer w/ in-tank cup (modded to have air valve outside tank)
JBJ Nano LED fuge light
return pump from a biocube 29 - for less flow through rear chambers

As far as what I've done with the tank, my routine simply involves a 5 to 10 percent water change every other week, and I only feed every 2 to 3 days.

Fish list:
two percula clowns
one tailspot blenny
one randall's goby

Inverts:
one green striped serpant star
one orange starfish
one small brittlestar
tiger tail cucumber
two scarlet reef hermits
two blue leg reef hermits
three various snails
one fighting conch

I started the tank with about 30 pounds of live rock that I obtained from a large established tank being broken down. I'm also using live sand but it is the stuff in the bag from the LFS.

Enough talk, here are some pictures. Thanks again!

Does your Tunze 9002 skimmer have a stock magnet mount to hold it at a certain water level and can you show a picture or explain your modification?

It has the stock mount. I have it against the divider between chamber 1 and 2, with the other magnet inside chamber 2. Make sense?

Love your tank!

I also have a Solana and am considering the AI unit to replace my failing 150w Sunpod. I was worried that one SOL unit would not cover the tank, but yours looks great. How far above the tank is the AI unit? How did you mount it? In the pictures, what is your % blue and white?

Go under my username and search for threads I've created and you can find the build thread on it where all of that was answered, including pictures of the light tree holding the AI unit. :) Should answer all of your questions, but if not let me know.

In pictures, it was at something like 60% blue and 30% white.

OK, so that the skimmer's inlet skims the water's surface. Makes sense.
