Can 2 Carpets (both Gigantea) touch each other without ill effects?

As long as they are the same species you will be fine. On the contrary, do not mix species. It usually ends bad. Been there done that.

Some anemones are colonial, and can get along in numbers. I don't know whether carpet anemones qualify. There's an anemone forum if you want more help, but if the tank in question is the 150g, you might be fairly safe.

I've seen many tanks with multiple Stichodactyla Gigantea coexisting in tank volumes of less then 100 gallons.
