I have a 150g main display (not running yet). I have a euro reef cs 8-2
and an aqua-c ev 120. Wich one is better, or should I use both? The euro
is definatly bigger (I can't find much info on it). Also, what are some good
pumps for these? For the euro I was thinking about a sicce.

One more thing. The euro reef has a second port hole so you can run two
pumps on it. Would that be a good idea or would it move water through the
skimmer too fast making it less efficient?

Are you sure the second hole isn't for a recirculating pump? If the two holes are stacked, one on top of the other, then it is probably set up to be recirculating and there will be a third smaller hole near the top of the tube for the water inlet.

Between those two skimmers, both will work but I would use the ER. Reef Dynamics is what became of the old Euro Reef, they have appropriate pumps for that body as well as the fittings if it is indeed a recirculating.

If you can, post a pic of the holes on the body and I can tell you if it is set up for recirculating.

The holes are not stacked. They are at the same hight. There are only two holes. The holes are at 3 o-clock and 6 o-clock. So would it be best to Run two pumps in, only one pump, or mod it by drilling holes to make it a recirc? I have a pump that came with it but I was planing on geting a new one just because. It is a dolfin. I am trying to post a pic but it's not working.
Thank you for the reply.

Would really like to see a pic, it can still be recirc with the holes as described.

are you sure the 2nd hole isnt the outlet?

Unless there is supposed to be more than one outlet, the main outlet is a large vertical pipe with a foam cilinder around it.

I am trying to post pick but it says its too big. Even if I shrink it on paint.
How do you shrink pics?

That would work, or you could set it up so that the pump input faces the skimmer and plumb it directly, this is how ER, ASM and many others have them set up.

I would have to elevate the circ pump a little then, right?
Also, would I run air intake tubes on both pumps or just
the circ pump?

No need in elevating the recirc pump, just rotate the pump so the inlet is facing the body and make the hole there so it is a straight shot. I have run air to both the feed and the recirc but the foam head is more stable with it just on the recirc.

Ok, I will set it up as a recirc and tinker with the air lines once my system
is up an running. Thanks for all your help.
