Hi all - I put this in my sump a couple of weeks ago, it is hooked up directly to my ro/di unit so my water level stays extremely consistant. Works like a charm!!!!! The best part is it only cost $15 bucks at HD and is completely made of plastic. I plan to put another in my 45gal bucket where I mix salt so no more wories about over filling and flooding the basement.

Sweet idea.

I have that EXACT flusher unit un-opened. I was going to use it for the upstairs unit, but it turns out it only needed a flapper. I never returned it.

Now I know how to put it to use... hehehe

Without a backup float/solenoid of some sort, you're asking for a tank crash. If/when that float skicks, your RO will pump freshwater until everythings dead in your tank. Sorry to be the "bad guy" but toilets stick all the time & thats with freshwater.

Yeah, I was planning on using it for my water changes. My ATO requires me to manually turn it on. It then goes into a 5G jug. I turn it on every 3-5 days for 2 hours, and set my alarm to combat my ADD and the chance I may forget. If by chance I forget about it, it overflows into my 55G freshwater drum that I try to keep no more than 2/3 full just in case.

I was just looking into a way to auto do my water changes.

I like the idea I made a similar system but only have it hooked up to a 5 gallon bucket just incase it ever got stuck, works great thou and have had it going for years with no problems.

I agree. Fine for that but directly hooking the RO to his sump is not a good plan.

We'll see over time, I'm in my fish room almost everyday so I'll keep an eye on it. If it starts getting alot of salt build-up, it can be removed very easily for a quick rinse. I think with just some routine maintenance ( like everything else on a fish tank) it will work just fine.
