Setting up my new tank, I have leaks from the bulkheads. Anyone know a quick remedy? Please help ASAP, i'm moving from one house to another and I am about to lose all my livestock.

Thanks in advance. Nic

Where exactly is it leaking from? Is it from the outside of the bulkhead or is it where your plumbing attaches to the bulkhead?

If it has an overflow just shut off the return pump & drain below the overflow. Then remove & clean or replace the bulkheads. Not a big deal really. Just keep a powerhead pointed to the surface while working on it. Shouldn't lose any livestock 'cause of this.

Seat the bulkhead only when dry, make sure the gasket is on the wet side of the tank. In a pinch you can dry the bulkhead and run a tiny bead of aquarium safe silicone on the gasket prior to filling.

I have the bulkhead installed correctly and it is leaking from inside the tank.

Many times the problem is over-tightening. They're plastic & become distorted easily. Try taking it apart, cleaning, re-installing hand tight & adding a little water to the overflow to check the seal. If it still leaks then new bulkheads are in order.

They are brand new bulkheads... I am considering using silicone around the bulkheads and redoing my drain setup. Any other ideas or advice.
