I have had a reef for 5 + years and recently just sold everything.
However, I am now curious about setting up a fowlr.
I've been reading the threads here and just wanted to double check that I've got the right ideas:

Main items needed
Tank (125+)/Stand
Sump
extra sized protein skimmer
of course substrate/live rock
lighting (I was thinking starting with basic fluorescent and then going from there).

Livestock: based on a 125
2 maroon clowns
1 red corisse wrasse
medium angel
smaller trigger
snowflake eel
flame hawkfish

suggestions/ criticisms are always welcome!!!

IMO it would be ok. i have heard and this is what steered me away from the eel is when the get some size on them your smaller fish and inverts will start to go missing and become his snack. other than that i would like to see a tank with that family in their

someone on another site had recommended a zebra moray instead because (although they get bigger than the s.f.e.) they are less agressive.

In principle, your stocking list sounds ok..... you'll probably refine it as you explore the idea further.

Tank size, equipment all sounds ok.

Lighting - I'd get a twin T5 unit from the outset and save yourself the money wasted on Flouresents. Twin T 5 will give the fish grea colours, and decent coraline growth on your LR.....
