So I get home tonight and I see the tip of a snail sticking out of the center of one of my acans. Sounds weird and looks even weirder than it sounds. Should I try pulling the snail out? It's a dwarf cerith snail.

Best to pull it out if you can. But be gentle.

Odds are it crawled up on the acan and the acan tried to make lunch out of it. They can have voracious appetites and will eat what they can get a hold of. If you want it to grow more heads feed it 2-3 times a week. You should get about 2-4 heads a month from it that way.

I will give it a shot. It looks like its try to push it back out now. I try to spot feed it mysis and it never seems to be interested. Do you have any other suggestions on what foods they might like?

I have personally had great success with Salifert Pellets that I use to feed my fish.

No worries. I use an eye dropper to gently drop it in the center of the head.

Acans Personally, I feed all my Acans Mysis. Maybe mix the frozen Mysis with other things such as Rod's food before feeding, to stimulate its response.

Woke up this morning and the snail was pushed back out. I guess it realized that it wasnt that tastey after all!

Well, just got home and my scan isn't looking so good. It looks wilted and shrunk.

indeed a ladybug. My aquariums in a rough in downstairs and a lucky ladybug became the snack. its funny cause the hard shell/skeleton was spat back out

Wow, my LPS can't catch anything with all the flow in my tank. That ladybug was unlucky to have drowned AND gotten caught by your blasto!

I don't find ladybugs ANYWHERE in the house, other than floating in basement saltwater tanks. No clue what attracts them.

A good way to spot-feed Acans & LPS corals is to cut off the top portion of a 2- liter soda bottle & place it over the coral. This way food is isolated, regardless of flow in tank, & gets to the coral to consume.
