I currently have a 250w MH on my 100g cube (27" high) but im not happy with the light spread, and too much of the tank is shaded. Most corals are placed in the upper half of the tank.

Would a Ati 10x24w be sufficient and how does it compare to a 250w MH?

Maybe try a different reflector with the 250 watt metal halide, maybe even a 400 watt bulb. Unless you are looking to spend $1100 on a fixture and bulbs.

That ATI will put out more light than your current setup. Probably quite a bit more depending on what halide setup you have (bulb, ballast, reflector)

How deep is your tank? Front to back, you might be able to go with 8 bulbs in the end.

Its 30"x30" wide.
Its a Giesemann (tiny reflector) with a BLV 20000k

The akternative could be a Giesemann spectra 400w 4x24w t5 but the heat would be an issue.

I am just getting used to my T5s now after three months. I almost switched back to halides...
As for light spread I can now put corals where I couldn't before..

I had a 6X24 in my tank (36X30) and only the outer edges were a problem so if you go T5's I would say that a X8 would work out for ya. In the end i went back to MH and am now using Dual 250W HQI with dual T5 but yes the heat is a big problem.... mainly though its my canopy's fault. Its open back and unless i open the front and turn the fan on it will just circulate hot air. If you stay MH go with a pendant like LumenMax Elite, i am using two of those with a bluewave 7 and it rocks!!! all my SPS are in love lol.

Good luck.
