Would the Chromis be dinner for the Triggers? I'd like to get a about 6 of them if they are safe around the Triggers.

It would depend on the kind of triggers...

I have 8 with a blue jaw. They are more cautious with the trigger in the tank but the trigger seems pretty oblivious of them.

Add the Chromis first, and try to get some bigger ones. The Clown may decide to snack on them as it gets bigger.

Both my PinkTail (5") and BlueJaw (4") don't even look at my 8 chromis (1.0-1.5")..at least for now. Also, I introduced two small cleaner shrimp without incident too...again at least for now.

Your success probably depends a lot on how much you feed your fish... if you keep your triggers well fed and fat, as in at least 2 if not 3 feedings a day, you'll probably be able to keep chromis in there with them.

If your fish are always searching for more food and looking half starved, you'll most likely not have any chromis left after a short time.

I had five decent sized (all over 4" and one over a foot) triggers known to be aggressive in my 210 and had 5 damsels in with them for a while, the damsels were added AFTER the triggers and I didnt have any problems.

Bob Fenner tells a story in his first book of a Clown Trigger co-existing with Damsels for several months, then snapping and killing them all in one night.

so the biggest threat is the clown trigger and i'm reasonablely safe with most other triggers?

i have two blue green chromis(1") in QT with a 3" bluejaw trigger right now.

No guarantees on any of them, but in general:

bluejaw - probably OK
red tail - Depends on which "red tail" trigger, since multiple different fish go by that name. If X. Mento (crosshatch) then probably OK.
niger - maybe OK
hawaiian/indian trigger - maybe
clown trig - chromis are tasty treats

As mentioned above, letting the chromis get established first would significantly increase your chances.

You have to make sure that your tank is large enough to hold the fish you want. Do you already have all the triggers mentioned above? If so, I hope the tank is monstrous, or you've got bigger problems coming your way.

Also, make sure to read the many, many threads in here about chromis. There's a good chance that the biggest chromis-killer in your tank will be the other chromis, not a trigger.

That's not uncommon behavior for clown triggers.
