I don't know of any LED fixture that has better PAR, better interfacing, better adjust-ability, better user friendliness, better modularity, better anything! If I had the money I would hands down order the rails, hanging kit and 3 AI Sol Blues today. I also think it would be kinda interesting if someone were to order say 2 blues and one white. FWIW you can order which ever you want (blue or white) and if you don't like them the pucks are so easy to take out and replace it's like playing with legos.

Would three units cover your 6' long tank? I thought I read someone was using 3 on a 4' long tank and there were some dark areas on the edges. Sorry didn't mean to hijack.

He has a 5' long tank it is 60" long.

FWIW I have been told by numerous people using this fixture and retailers that 3 will cover my 6' tank, and usually a retailer will want to sell you more to make more in some cases. Of course 4 would be optimal on a 6' tank, but I don't think 4 is necessary.

I have read here and elsewhere that the AI units are the best so far. I don't think you can go wrong with them, but they are pricey.I have a 7'L x 3.5' W tank and it would take 10 - 12 units to cover the whole thing. I'm an addict to this hobby ,but I have a limit to how much money I will spend. Right now I have two maristars and numerous T5 fixtures running above the tank. I was thinking of just replacing the maristars. They have 2 250watt halides and 2 T5 apiece. I thought I would get four sol blue, but I am concerned whether they will cover as much space as the halides did.

I have the same exact question so I'm going to bump this up! Same size tank as well!

There is a guy here that mounted the AIs lengthwise and used 3 over his 60" tank. Coverage looked good.

I have no DIY skills..... AI sounds like a good option but I'm not sure the fixture is going to pass the wife test.
