so say i have a wild caught acro, what would I have to do with it and how long before I can finally say that the frags I get from it is aquacultured?
hope i didnt sound vague but ya, i would love to find out what makes a certain colony of coral or frag to be called aquacultured.
thanks in advance for the input!

well if one of the frags grew then you fraged that , I would say those whould be Aqua cultured .. but if the orginal coral is all ready larger than when you got it , i would also say that those fragments would be aqua cultured as well .. I just think it s so great that so many people are growing corals now .. we currently try to purchase at least 90 % aqua cultured corals for our store .. 100% is our goal..

I think it would be fair to say any growth that happened in your aquarium is aqua-cultured, whereas the original portions of the culture were wild caught.

What store is that? I used to live in Clemson, SC and I would only go to Sandlapper Aquatics. IMHO that is THE best marine store or fish store I have even been in.

thanks very much for the feedback guys! i guess i can fairly say that my wild caughts are growing nicely ... but kind of slow. ive read somewhere here in RC that wild caughts tend to grow slower compared to those that aquacultured especially the ORAs ... ill try to frag one of those I have and see if they grow faster than that of the mother colony. :)
happy reefing!
