I just purchased an Aqua FX barracuda RO/DI system. How much psi do I need to have a 0 reading on a TDS meter. When I turn the cold water facet up past 50 psi my plastic adapter which is screwed into my facet popped out.
Not good!! Water all over. I seem to have it holding at 45 psi. Does anyone have this RO/DI system. Is 45 psi a good psi to have?

the owners manual should list the optimum pressure for the unit you have . but as a rule i would say 45 is good

the pump for low water pressure I think shuts off at 65

We run both of ours at 80psi

My system "recommends" 60psi but my water pressure will not go above 40 (well water) and I always have 0 TDS. No big deal in my opinion. Just get a $25 meter and check your final product often. Good luck

At 45psi, you will take a long time to produce clean water while wasting a lot of water doing so.
I run my Barracuda at 90psi, in my previous home, the psi was about 45 to 60 and I now realize that it took twice as long to make the same amount of water. If you are cautious about saddle piercing your cold water line, you can always get an inline sink shut off valve like the 1st product here:
