I really don't get why the interviewee keeps saying it's a good thing they're finding them off their coast... aren't alien species usually a bad thing?

This species has been known from UK waters for years and there are several healthy colonies that have been studied. They may be spreading due to slightly warmer waters, but they certainly are not a new or even a novel find.

That's really the problem with the British press. We are a small island and not much happens so the little things get blown out of proportion.

It was interesting because they said they were a tropical species. Are there any species of Mantis that live in cooler waters? i'm sure there must be.
