I am still researching lighting and in the planning stages for my 8 foot 300g (96x30x25). I am leaning towards 2 8x54w Tek Elite fixtures. What do you guys think?

Anyone have pics of their tanks with tek fixtures? Even if its not elite. I can hardly find any pics of the actual fixture online. I know this is a popular fixture.

Do you think the regular fixtures would be fine or should I go with the elites for sure? Reefgeek has them for $629 with bulbs. Thats not too bad. I would need 2 of them though so $1260.

I have 8x54W Tek Light, not Elite model. I keep SPS and they grow good and colors are great, but I change bulbs every 6 mos. because my fixture does not have cooling fans.If I were you ,look into ATI Sun Power 8x54W ,great fixture $579 at Reefgeek w/o bulbs.I am looking to change my Tek to Sun Power, 8 bulbs SP were not available when I got mine . Here is picture of my tank with Tek Light:

I've been running a T-5 TEK 6 bulb unit for a year and a half.

Pros:
Great lighting
Affordable
Sleak

Cons:
No cooling fans
Reflectors are subject to extreme corrosion from salt spray. Do not forget to buy acrylic shields - even if they tell you it will diminish PAR a bit.
