I am trying to raise my calcium level on my 125g from 300 to 400 with BRS 2 part. My Mag is good along with my Alk being at 8dkh. I have used the BRS calculator to figure out the amount I need to dose, but am wondering if I need to dose the same amount of the Alk portion of the two part as well as the calcium to get the tank to 400? Could I just dose the calcium part to reach 400 and then go back to dosing both calcium and Alk for the upkeep?

Thanks.

I agree. I did that from time to time myself. :)

So how quickly will you add the Ca?

go to the calculator and punch in 300 and desire 400 calcium for 125 gallon and it will tell you how many ml to get to 400 but it will also tell you not to raise your calcium more than 50 parts per day i believe. So take the total ml it tells you to add and divide it by 2 to get from 300 to 400.

I will probably add the 43 fl oz over the course of 4 days, in the mornings and evenings.

You are probably better to use Kent turbo calcium or similar product. Two part takes alot to raise the levels but maintains existing levels much easier and with much less amount
