I have been using the unit for 4 days so far. This is my feeling on the unit so far.

Pro's:
1 Power cord
no timers needed it comes with a control module my favorite part actually I can set dawn day dusk and moon all through one unit
The 3w Cree's look great not hard on the eyes.
Shimmers just like my 250w metal halides.
Coral looks amazing with the blue 3w and moonlight it brings out colors I have never seen before.
Just plug and play setup
super quiet
almost zero heat
Manual and auto mode for full diversity
Good solid build not flashy but solid.

con's
No easy lens set like the maxspect to buy but you can definately DIY
The manual is in Chinese ... even the translated parts are like Chinese....lol
Didn't come with mounting legs but I really didnt need them I have it on my hood.
no mounting hardware for the controller.
Mine came with a weird cable for power maybe china's standard I replaced it with a PC power cable works great.
Took forever to ship like 2 weeks this was not due to customs

Here are some pics of it in action.

did you purchase it from fish street?

does the controller allow for automatic dimming or just on/off of different banks of leds?

I have the 24" KEY LED K5524-Ultra (CREE) 81w on my 54 corner tank. I love it. Low heat, low watts. I would say is equivalent to somewhere between a 150w - 250w halide, without the heat or bulb changes. The shimmer is great, I would say just as good or better than halides. I think the color (cree model) is great. My 14" Heteractis Crispa anemone loves it.
The only con, is I have the original (old) model, and it is not dimmable or controllable, 1 plug. Dusk to dawn is impossible. The new models are controllable now.
The pros are many.........low watts, great color, nice fixture and best of all little to no heat transfer. I dont think I have ever seen my heater turn on while the lights were on, before I installed this led lighting. It will be nice when the summer rolls around NOT to have to run a chiller. The money I am saving on my elect. utilities is awesome.
You will love the new Key light fixture, good luck with it.
Later,
Herbie

I almost got one of those from the same place . So what color/kelvin is the set up when all lights are on ? I saw a video with the cree's and saw spot lighting. The light you have does not appear to do this . How high is the fixture from the surface of the water ?
I'd love to see the par numbers when you can take them.
U saved some some considerable money and got the cree's to boot .
Enjoy .

When all the lights are on it's like 13k not yellow like 10k-12k and a tad less blue then my phoenix 14k metal halides. The fixture is 6" above the top I have it on top of the hood. Yup 570 shipped was a good deal for this setup imho.

I would like to see the corals response to the light for a month or get a par meter which ever comes first then I can recommend fully this unit so far so good though. I'm using the 108 watt version. I may get a maxspect to do a shoot out between the two. What size tank do you have and how do you feel the coverage is. I'm trying to figure out which key unit i want for my 40 breeder

One of those sites has a tank specs and recommended fixtures based on that .

HTH

Barnacle_Blenny ... So it does appear whiter than some of the other led units out there . Phoenix are pretty blue bulbs. What's tjhe take on the reflectors? You think they help with the spread ? I was advised the Maxspect would not have the spread of the Key . What size tank you got that on ?46 or 72 bow ? I can't tell but it appears to give you full coverage .
Looking good .

It's on a 72 bow i have it about 8 inches above the water the spread is good so far if I go to 10 inches I think I would have perfect coverage there is shade to the left and right of the liver rock where I have a space before the glass but since no coral is there i find no need to raise it higher atm. Yes they are whiter then pheonix I'd say between 12-13k not a hint of yellow. The reflectors are small compared to the massive ones on my metal halides but they get the job done.
