I have mushrooms and dusters over taking the sps in the tank. I have tangs in the tank with sps. What would eat these or something else should I do with out tearing the tank down? I was thinking a puffer fish...

razor blade

Razor blade won't remove all of the flesh. Any remaining flesh will regrow into new shrooms. Smear some kalk paste to kill off the remaining flesh. It may take more than one application.

It will if you scrape off the coraline or any substrate off with it. What you cant scrape and cut, use a good pair of tweezers to pull off any left overs. Chances are that any fish that will eat mushrooms might eat any other corals in your tank.

Mine started growing right on top of each other and on the gravel. I used to scoop them up by the handful and dump them in a bucket. More like population thinning rather than eradication. Never again.

I use a syringe filled with the alk buffer from two part suplement. Try to inject into the mouth of the mushroom, a small amount. 15-20 min later the mushroom practically falls off the rock by itself.

I use a syringe with some freshly-made ultra-concentrated kalk solution and inject it near the mouth of the mushrooms. They shrivel up and die.

I say cut them and sell them any time they grow back. Lots of people love having mushrooms. Yet another way to support the reef addiction

If a rock is completely covered in them, I've taken it (after calling first!) to my LFS for store credit. They get my rock with mushrooms, I get new rock.

A large syringe and kalk works great. I had 2 sq feet of mushrooms. 20 min. they were gone.

anyone try an aptaiser or similar electrocuting device, designed for aptasia and majanos but should work I'd think

I thought about trying the high tech method, but a 60cc syringe and a long needle was easy.
