I'm testing an outlet setup on a light and I'm able to turn the light on and off with the light wizard. I have the light set to come on for 1 minute, and then off. But it doesn't turn off until it reaches the 2 minute mark. I have the hysteresis set to 00:00, but it says it has to between 1-999? So I set it to 1 second, (00:01) and still takes a full minute past my shutoff time to shut off...

Using If Time = 08:00 to 08:05 Then ON as an example:

The outlet will turn on the instant the time hits 08:00:00, just as expected. But when the clocks hits 08:05:xx, the Apex still sees the statement as TRUE, and will keep the outlet on until the time is no longer 08:05:xx. So, it will still be on at 08:05:59. The outlet will get turned off the moment the the time is no longer in the specified range; in this case, when 08:06 hits.

So if you wanted a device on for exactly 5 minutes (not 6 as in the above example) you'd use If Time = 08:00 to 08:04 Then ON

Thanks for posting this I did not even think to wonder why my lights were on an additional minute, I thought the clock needed to be synchronized... Wow I feel a little less smarter at the moment...

Don't feel bad... I was going nuts trying to figure out why it was shutting off a minute late too... Another thing I learned....is that posting questions on this forum, get answered very quickly. These guys are great! The unofficial user guide is also I life saver:)

I feel a little less smarter at the moment...LOL. I suspect that most people wouldn't even notice (or care) if lights are on for 8 hours exactly or are on for 8 hours & 1 minute. ;)

That little caveat only really matter when very short durations are involved.
