4 t5's to 175w halide.

My t5 fixture ballast went out and I have an extra 175w Hamilton bell shaped pendant...How high above the tank should I hang it? The tank is a 15g 20x15x12
with SPS...The 4 t5's were sitting directly on the tank rim.

I would start at about 16-20" and slowly lower to let things acclimate.
Does the pendant have a lens?

OK, good.
The reason I ask is that if it didn't that would limit how close you can get.
One drop of tank water on a MH would cause it to expolde. (you probably already knew that but I never assume) ;)

Yep I knew that but it never hurts for someone to remind you of the little things that can cause a disaster....thanks

Might cause it to explode. I have sprayed a whole heap of halides in my day- and been lucky- but they sometimes can explode from it.
