So after almost 2 months of use, I come home to find my sump full of overflowing foam from my skimmer. and the skimmer appears to have gone mad.
I was using Vertex Biopellets. Everything went fine, then this mishap occurred.
Should i do a water change? PH has also fallen to 8.1

Depending on how much water was removed from your tank if the skimmer overflowed out of the system, you salinity could have dropped. I would check all your parameters to make sure they are in line. If the bacterial population has suddenly increased, this could be a good thing for reducing nitrate. Perhaps as small water change could be benefitial, but nothing too large. I would asjust your skimmer to properly remove the bacteria & other suspended orgnanics. Once adjusted, the skimmer should catch up as long as it is of good quality.

I tried adjusting the skimmer, but the foam still overflows. I will do a water change tonight and hopefully that will make it better.
