I have not yet gotten an RO\DI unit for my tank, so I have been making runs to the LFS for my topoff and salt water. No biggie, but I also had to move my tank and only had 2 5 gallon buckets, and my 3 5 gallon water containers that I store my water in.

Since I put "live water" into the storage container when I transported my tank to it's current location, they seem "dirty" and i feel I need to clean them. How should I go about cleaning them? Also, same for when i do finally get a RO/DI and a trashcan to store it in, how would that be cleaned?

A little distilled white vinegar/RO mix and rinse with RO and you should be fine.

Ok cool. I've used vinegar to clean all my tank equip every other month or so, but didn't know if it was strong enough / safe for the water storage containers.

Any specific ammount I should be using? When I clean my parts I use like 1:1 vinegar / water mix in a 2.5 gal bucket.
