i went to my LFS to pick up 6 "money cowrie"
.... they whernt money cowrie, but i didnt notice that till after they where in my tank. they have a trunk like a nass, they burrow like a nass. but they arnt a nass.

I would get something similar as a hitchhiker when I got livestock and sand from Florida. They got sort of annoying, because I would see them on my other snails. These definately should not have been sold to you as money cowries.

Yeah, they're small marginellids, Prunum apicinum. They aren't algae eaters, but they may scavenge as well as kill other tiny animals as prey. Pretty snails, but you probably wouldn't want a tank full of them. I don't know how much real damage a few could do, but I do know they will seize and kill other tiny snails.
