What are your alk, calc, & mag readings which all play a part in balancing your pH? 7.8 is probably the lowest you want your pH.. could be just due to low alk, or too much CO2 in your tank from either a tightly closed up house or not enough water movement (surface agitation)

Where is your Alkalinity?
If it is under 9 dKH I would advise using Kent's Super Buffer dKH as directed.
I like to keep my Alkalinity between 10 and 11 dKH.
Don't shoot for 8.2 or 8.3 PH.
7.9 - 8.0 is fine.

+1.. certainly don't chase the perfect pH by continually adding buffer. Just maintaining your alk, calc, and mag levels, your pH will stabilize. If those params are in line, by 9-11, 400-460, 1280-1350 respectively and you still have a pH of 7.8 by the end of the day, then likely you need to bring in outside air either by running an airline from the outside to your skimmer, or just cracking a window. pH will naturally be at it's lowest in the morning, and rise during the day as your corals use up CO2 in photosynthesis.

That pH is fine, even 7.8 is fine, and I wouldn't do anything to raise it.

What is being dosed for alkalinity and calcium? You could consider a kalk setup, since kalk will raise the pH some and is a cheap supplementation source, long-term.
