I just bought an aqualight 6x54 watt T5 unit with 4 leds....is this light sufficient enough for acans?? And if so where would be the ideal place to place it in the tank..my tanks 48" wide and 25" up and down

acans are lower light loving so the answer is yes. But feeding them helps them stay healthy and fat.

That light is definitely sufficient! And if any of those acans are rainbows you may even want to shade them a little bit. I have a tek 6 bulb over my tank and I have to shade my acans that are on the sandbed, granted I only have a 16" deep tank.

Not familiar with that particular fixture but T5's are typically perefctly fine and as chalice said you may even need to shade them a bit or keep them lower. Would start on the sandbed and move them up over time if you want them up on the rocks.

That will be plenty of light for them. I have a group of about 30 acans down in my sandbed kinda under an overhang of rock. I have 6x39 T5s. They are doing great.

6X54W is plenty. Even good for SPS! :D
