My Gorg has been beautiful and has had polyp extension constantly since I bought it a couple of months ago.

Today, it has no PE and it has white spots on it's body. Any ideas as to what it is, and, of course, what I can do to help it. I really love this coral. I target feed when I feed the SPS.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks, MATT

Nobody?
I am thinking of dipping in Coral Rx, in case it's pests, however, if it's not pests, I may be stressing it out more.

Has it shed before? Mine used to shed periodically, and it had no PE before it did.

No it hasn't. That's encouraging, though. Hopefully it is just doing it's thing and will be alright. How do i know if it's shedding? Is there something specific I should look for?
thanks

The white spots look like random necrotic spots that you are probably just noticing because of the lack of polyp extension. As long as they are just a few and random, I wouldn't worry. Shedding/sloughing is more like a thin skin peeling off everywhere and usually happens every couple of months or so--perfectly normal.

Yep, what Noah said. I think mine lasted about 6 months or maybe a little more back when I had one, but it did shed several times, then slowly started turning into sticks.

No, it IS a photosynthetic one. that's the only reason i bought it. I was assured by a very respectable LFS I have dealt with a lot that it as photosynthetic.
It was very sudden. Just one day fine, the next day closed up and white spots. I am going to cll the LFS and see if they know what might be going on.

Well, that is decidedly NOT encouraging :( I guess we shall see how it goes. If this one tanks, I will not be getting another.
This is one is photosynthetic, I've had one before. Never grew and faded away after about 8 months.
