I am in the process of setting up my 46 gallon bowfront reef tank which will be supplemented by a 20 gallon long sump. The only way to fit this sump under the stand is to remove the back vertical support. I will put 1.5 by 1.5 by 27 (inch) poplar supports in each corner of the stand and then put cross beams of the same material across these vertical poles. Will this be enough to support my 46 gallon reef? Has anyone done any modifications to this stand to accomodate a 20l? Any tips or better ideas to make this stand more structurally sound would be much appreciated. Thanks all.
