I bought a set of blue leds for under the dash in a car and set them up for my night lights. I found they are to bright and keep the fish up. Can i use permanent marker to black out every second light or would that poison the fish? there is salt buid up on the light so im sure water at least splashes on it.

Why not use electrical tape? Black marker won't darken it much. Though it's perfectly safe.

I was gonna use electrical tapo but i was worried about if water hits the glue then drips into the tank. Would that be an issue?

2 part crazy glue, food coloring. Color one part of the glue dark enough to cover the light, then cover them. Nothing to bleed into the tank since its all in the crazy glue. Coloring Elmers glue can do the same thing and if it peels off in 6 months you just redo it.

You could probably put it in a 1/2 inch PVC pipe and cut slits in it...and then just mount the PVC pipe instead

Hang the lights up a little higher to reduce splash?

1+ on moving them up or stoping the salt creep.
