just connect one wire of the switch to the GND and the other to I1 etc.

There isn't one that I know of; look in the back of the manual for the controller you will be using it with and match up the connections in the manual with the connection labels on the break-out box.

As far as I know nothing rsv is short for reserved.

...and is not really used for anything.

Hmmm - perhaps it act as another slot for a jumper wire over from the ground due to the fact it might be challenging to stick 6 wires in the ground slot...

Hmmm - perhaps it act as another slot for a jumper wire over from the ground due to the fact it might be challenging to stick 6 wires in the ground slot...You could check with an ohmmeter, but I think you'll find that it is either not connected, or is pin 7 of the MiniDIN8.

As for dealing with multiple wires on Terminal 8/GND, the easiest solution is to attach a short piece of wire to the terminal, then use a wirenut to join the other wires from float switches or other devices to it. Some people go for cleaner solution using a screw terminal strip.
