What are the best snails that eat algae off the sand.

Astrea and trochus tend to have a problem staying upright on sand; they tip over all too frequently and often die, I gave up on them.
Nassarius glide over sand, but then again, nassarius eat very little (if any?) algae; they're scavengers.

I have found that cerith snails, the very long pointy ones, clean algae off sand fairly well. You may also want to try a few of the smaller snails (margarita snails and nerites), they may work well. And, though expensive, small conchs may be a possibility.

My nerites don't clean the sand. I'd have to say that ceriths and especially dwarf ceriths work the best for me.
