So, i've had my jbj 28 for a while after buying it used. I decided to put a maxijet 1200 in for a little more flow, and ended up positioning it so that the water level in the front was a little high, up to where the glass and the rim meet in the front. Didn't think much of it since it should be all siliconed right? so i started noticing the water level started sloshing over the front rim, and the back rim had about 1/4" space between the rim and the water. uhoh, tank isn't level. UHOH the particle board has soaked up so much water the tank is about to fall!!
so i went and got a new stand, and everything is nice. was running on only one of the two return pumps, and the water level was about 1/4" below the rim everywhere. hooked up the maxijet 1200, and repositioned the flow, no water near the rim.
turned on BOTH return pumps and the water level was back up to the rim height and water leaked out the back again. So i'm thinking the silicone is bad, but how on earth is it leaking out the back? why would the water level raise because both pumps are going? is it not designed to run both pumps?
