we need more information. Start here to help you calculate head loss with any given return pump. http://www.reefcentral.com/index.php/head-loss-calculator

We need information like what type of overflow are you using? what is the GPH of the overflow? How far is the return pump going to be from the output in the display? go shopping online for something that suits your budget and compare it to the link above to make sure it will work for you. For example. if your overflow is a 300gph max and the return pump has to push water up 5ft. a 300gph pump will more than likely be reduced to about 97gph...so do some research on the pumps and compare them to the calculator link I gave you.

I'd probably target about 150-200 gph through the sump. I agree that knowing the head loss is important.
