If you had the option of picking between three skimmer brands; Precision Marine RL, Reef Octopus, or Reef Dynamics(aka Euro Reef), which one will you choose. Ignore tank size and bioloads. This is to help me decide between these three skimmers. I just want to get something thats reliable, & efficient and that actually works. Unlike my skimmer that skims about 1/4cup every week.

Yes Reef octo I have the DNWB 110 for my setup I am working on its capabale of doing a 125 gallon tank, but I bough it over the internal non recurcilating oh did I mention it does that as well over the in sump model that can do 150gallons per hour both of these are just under 200$ I did not hook mine up yet ran on freshwater heard nothing but great things aout this skimer and reef oct to begin with. I swear out of everyone I have talked to on line and in the stores told me the reef octo was a great well build skimer that the reef octo is a great skimer. Over some that prefer certain brands over the reefs but they all agreed they are a great skimer any way especially for the money you can't beat the perfomance and durabilty for the cash. I a positive when I finally get mine hooked up on my new system I have no worries and no doubts that I will be happy and Thats Why I bought it in the firsr place.

So yeah plus 10 for reef octo for me please go for it you should not be dispointed

Personally, I went with the SWC Extreme, but almost all Reef Octopus owners I've heard from seem to be very happy with their skimmer.

If you want a "budget" skimmer go with reef octo....if you want high level performance I would say now of the above brands are really the top leaders in the skimmer market besides SWC...mentioned above

Reef octo prices are standard pretty much and it is easy to get a used one and the pumps they use are decent

The older euro reef used sedra pumps which really just dont perform as well as they should...the newer ones are a little pricey....

+1 on Reef Octo. I've got a HOB model and love it. Works wonderfully, low maintenance and no adjustment to screw with/up. Great customer service on top as well.

So SWC... What is the difference between this brand and the Super Reef Octopus cones with the bubble blaster pumps?

Just did quick google and saw that SWCs have the Sicce pumps which I've heard are not good ones, therefore, out of the question. Thank you for the suggestion though.

OLD SWC models came with the Sicce pumps. The newer models, i.e. the cones, come with Atman pumps that are smaller then the BB pumps that the SRO Octo's use for the same wattage and also have a 3 year warrenty on the pumps just like the BB's do.

My SWC 120 skimmer is pulling gunk out of a brand new tank with all new parts, sand, man made rock etc etc. The skimmer is also brand new yet it is pulling stuff from a tank with absolutely NO bio load.

I am 2 or 3 days into my HOB Super RO 1000 and it is really awesome. Yes still new to it but the bubble blaster pump output is great - small size and total volume of bubbles... I want to get a sump cone SRO for my new tank but am limping along with my ASM for the near future...

Thank you for helping me choose.
